About Us

Hi, I’m Ren.

I’m the designer and owner behind Scripted Hours.

I’m an immigrant from Brazil living in the United States with my husband.

I’ve always loved drawing. When I was 9 years old, I used to draw characters from my favorite comic books and sell them to my dad for $0.10 each. Around 14, I got really into anime and loved drawing manga and other anime characters. Drawing has always been something I’ve loved since I was a little girl. It’s the one thing I always seem to come back to.

But I never really pursued it beyond a hobby. It was always something I would forget about and then pick back up years later… you know, life.

Fast forward to 2020, when we were all locked in.

My mom suggested I start drawing again and maybe try watercolor, which I did. Painting was never something I felt naturally drawn to, but I gave watercolor and gouache a try. After realizing it was harder than I expected, I bought a few alcohol markers and went back to drawing and coloring.

I ended up opening a small sticker shop on a print-on-demand marketplace and started selling my art. But I didn’t have a clear style yet, and after a few months, I gave up on it.

Once things went back to normal, I went back to a 9 to 5 job and put all my hobbies aside because it was a very demanding role.

Fast forward to 2025, I couldn’t take it anymore.

I needed something more for my life. I quit my 9 to 5 job without really knowing what I was going to do next.

In January 2026, I felt this strong desire to create my own stickers, but this time doing everything myself. I had never done digital illustration before, but I knew I wanted to design stickers that I would actually use in my own planners and journals.

Blobby came from that process. From learning what I liked, going through my old sketchbooks, and figuring out digital illustration as I went.

I’m still learning every day, and I’m far from being a pro, but I’m having so much fun with it. I genuinely can’t imagine my life without Blobby now. He really brought me back to life in a way I didn’t expect.

I’ve also been journaling and planning since around 2018/2019. But in 2023, I really got into bullet journaling, and from there I started exploring different systems, from the Sterling Ink Common Planner to now using a Hobonichi.

Scripted Hours is really a mix of all of that. It’s where I get to turn those quiet, everyday moments into something you can actually use in your own routines.
